For over 25 years, Thomas House Temporary Shelter has provided transitional housing for homeless families with children. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment and the resources necessary for homeless families to remain together while empowering them to become independent and self-sufficient. For most families in Orange County, homelessness was not caused by substance abuse or mental illness. You can make a positive difference and lasting impact that will enable Thomas House to provide services and support to families, such as:
- Life Skills Classes: parenting, budgeting, nutrition, self-esteem development
- Employment Counseling: resume, computer training, job search assistance, interview preparation, business apparel sources, ESL classes
- Housing, medical & dental care, transportation assistance, off-site child care
- On-site individual and family counseling
- Children's program: homework assistance, arts and crafts, birthday and holiday parties
- Most importantly, keeping parents and children together in an environment that will provide an opportunity for a new beginning.
